Position Summary:

Parkwood Seniors Community is recruiting a dynamic, enthusiastic individual to join our team! The Dietary Aide position helps perform dietary and food service routines which ensure residents consistently have high quality, delicious food for every meal.

Reports to:

Director Food Services

Assets and Qualifications:

  • Certified Food Service Worker (or currently enrolled in the Food Service Worker Program with successful completion of the entire Program within 3 years of hire)
  • Safe Food Handling Certification required
  • Understanding of HACCP
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Fully vaccinated with 3 doses
  • Experience working with older adults living in long term care an asset

Responsibilities:

 Include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Assist cooks to complete pre-preparation, production and preparation of food items and snacks as assigned
  • Serve meals to residents
  • Set tables in dining room and clean up after meals
  • Adhere to all written policies and procedures of the Home
  • Perform all tasks with an acceptable standard of skill and sense of responsibility
  • Work safely, following the safety guidelines as posted
  • Follow WHMIS 2015, fire safety, and emergency plan procedures
  • Attend meetings, training, and in-services
  • Follow Ministry of Health guidelines for safe food handling and infection prevention and control procedures
  • Keep work area clean and tidy
  • Report any immediate or potential hazards to the department director
  • Wash pots, pans and/or dishes as assigned

Shift Information:

Day Shift Shift: 6:30-11am (early morning transportation required) Part-time, Permanent  

Ability to provide effective service in French (proficient in conversational French for activities of daily living) is considered an asset.
