Position Summary:

Fairview Senior’s Community is recruiting a dynamic, enthusiastic individual to join our Care Team. As we build a community for all, this position assists in supporting the vibrant Retirement and Home & Community departments by providing direct care to residents and clients.

Reports to:

Director Retirement & Community Care

Assets and Qualifications:

  • PSW certificate an asset
  • Must be comfortable with electronic charting and communication
  • Experience working with seniors with complex, age-related diseases and/or mental health concerns
  • Team-work attitude and positive approach to work
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
  • Current Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector component required
  • Current TB skin test
  • Full vaccination status required

Responsibilities:

  • Care for residents/clients in their own home and/or retirement home setting
  • Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, toileting, general grooming, companionship etc.
  • Assist with housekeeping and light meal prep as required
  • Basic medication support
  • Observe, document and report to the Nurse any changes in resident’s condition as they occur
  • Attend in-service training and self-development courses as available and required
  • Recognizes and feels confident responding to emergency situations (ie. falls)

Shift Information:

Days/Evenings/Nights. Casual/Part-time/Fulltime

Ability to provide effective service in French (proficient in conversational French for activities of daily living) is considered an asset.
